1. Can I visit the trees?
Plantation visits are encouraged and can be arranged prior to making the full payment and after administrative fee is paid. As for existing customers, plantation visits can be arranged by request.
2. Does HGC have a replacement policy for damaged/faulty trees? If yes, does HGC ensure that there will be enough stock/replacement provided?
Over the years, HGC has been aggressively acquiring Aquilaria trees of various ages from local planters. Rest assured that we have a reasonable portion as buffer stock as we do know that nature plays a major role in the plantation industry. In order to ensure better protection and a peace of mind for you, HGC provides a one-to-one replacement of the trees from our buffer stock.
3. How do I own the trees?
You and HGC will be signing a Sales & Purchase Agreement to transfer the ownership of the trees to you. You will then appoint HGC to manage, inoculate, harvest and sell the trees. This is to ensure that the trees will be handled by experts in order to maximise yield.
4. How long is the term of my Sales & Purchase Agreement?
HGC offers you an opportunity to purchase either a short term (2 years) or a midterm (6 years) all depending on your needs. At this moment, HGC have trees of different stages being sold, this is so we can diversify the term of returns.
5. How do I identify which trees are mine?
The trees (or the lot of trees) you own will be tagged accordingly with your name & booking numbers.
6. Is HGC’s inoculation method proven?
HGC’s only uses the best inoculation material and state-of-the-art technology to ensure the formation of Agarwood in all the trees.
Our method is 100% proven organic with SGS certification.
HGC and its partners have inoculated over 170,000 trees throughout Asia Pacific over the last 3 years, with 99% success rate. Our Research & Development Department is constantly researching for new methods to produce a higher yield potential of Agarwood.

8. Is Agarwood high in demand?
Yes it is! Countries such as the Middle East use Agarwood to produce Oud Oil (Agar Oil) for their daily activities. In the recent years, the demand of Agarwood in China has increased exponentially with 500 tons per year. Officially, reports have substantiated that the world demands 4.5 million kilogrammes of Agarwood per year. Unofficially, it is predicted that the actual demands is around 6 million kilogrammes per year. Currently the Agarwood-producing countries can only meet 35% of the demand and Malaysia comes in third place, behind India and Indonesia.
9. Are there any hidden fees/charges? When can I expect to see my returns?
There are neither any hidden nor recurring fees for the purchase of the trees. However there will be a one-off Sales & Harvest Fee that will be deducted from the sales of the Agarwood woodchips at the end of the term. You can expect your returns within thirty (30) days of the collection from the sales proceeds of the Agarwood Woodchips.
